Ghost was the first official studio album, released by Radical Face in March 2007. On November 16, 2010, Cooper released a six-track EP titled Touch The Sky, which served as an appetizer for an announced trilogy of albums called Family Tree, which follows the tale of a fictional family, the Northcotes, through its generations. Building multiple profiles with multiple purposes is a very tall order, especially for someone like me, who has no particular inclination to share my personal life to keep a steady stream of posts up. And since Radical Face was my most popular project and where the bulk of my income stemmed from, it quickly became the sole focus. At least publicly. History[change | change source]
Cooper's first album to be recorded under the name Radical Face was The Junkyard Chandelier (2003). The album was never released. However, it can be downloaded for free online. Ghost was the first official studio album, released in March 2007.
On November 16, 2010, Cooper released an EP titled Touch The Sky. It was a preview for a trilogy of albums called Family Tree. This trilogy is about a fictional family from the 1800s, the Northcotes.[3] It is also really about Cooper's own life.[4] The albums are The Roots, The Branches, and The Leaves.
Another EP, The Bastards: Volume One, was released before The Roots. In August 2011, iTunes accidentally released The Roots to users outside of the US. It was released in the US on October 4, 2011.[5]
The Family Tree: The Branches was released on October 22, 2013 in America and on November 1 in Europe. The Bastards: Volume Two was also released that year.
The Bastards: Volume Three and The Bastards: Volume Four were both released in 2015, before the release of The Family Tree: The Leaves in March 2016.[6]The Leaves has songs that are about Cooper's own life.[4]
Clone, an album by Ben Cooper and Richard Colado, was supposed to be released before fall of 2012, but it kept getting delayed.[7] The first track of the album, 'The Laboratory', was finally released on September 23, 2014.[8] Cooper then released one track per week.

Truly, this is a rare treasure of a collection; one that, through elegant economy, manages to convey more emotion than any act whose idea of layering on sentimentality begins and ends with the employment of a string section.

The Jacksonville-native’s well-honed ability to weave detailed narratives is hardly surprising, with a background which spans a wide range of creative endeavors outside of music – from literature to poetry – and this is plain to see....

Jacksonville Beach, Florida-based Radical Face is primarily Ben Cooper, who is also one-half of similar quiet-is-the-new-loud duo Electric President. Both have inked deals with German label Morr Music. Highlighted with light orchestral flourishes and acoustic guitar, Radical Face's early recordings included an EP and an album titled The Junkyard Chandelier. In March 2007, Morr issued Ghost, a concept album about houses retaining memories.
In 2011, The Family Tree Presents: The Roots began a series of Radical Face albums based around a fictional family that spanned the 1800s to the present, a story that continued on the 2013 release The Family Tree: The Branches. A collection of unused songs from the Family Tree recordings called The Bastards appeared two years later, and in 2016 the epic concluded with The Family Tree: The Leaves. The latter became his highest-charting release to date, hitting the Top Heatseekers, Top Independent Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts. ~ Kenyon Hopkin
